National Space Science and Technology Center

The NSSTC is a collaborative research and education initiative focused on selected key scientific disciplines. It consists of researchers and resources from government, academia, and industry collaborating in an environment that enables cutting edge basic and applied research and fosters education of the next generation of scientists and engineers.

The National Space Science and Technology Center (NSSTC) is a research organization with its core facility in Huntsville, AL. A partnership between NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, Alabama universities, federal agencies and industry, the Center is a laboratory for cutting-edge research in selected scientific and engineering disciplines. The NSSTC is a partnership between NASA and the State of Alabama. NASA is represented by Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and the State of Alabama is represented by the Space Science and Technology Alliance (SSTA), which is comprised of the seven research universities in the State of Alabama:

Alabama Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research


Alabama Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) is a family of competitive, merit-based programs sponsored by the State of Alabama and by the National Science Foundation, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Department of Energy, the Department of Defense, and the Environmental Protection Agency. These programs are a Federal-State-industrial partnership formed to enhance the science and engineering research, education and technology capabilities of Alabama.

Alabama Supercomputer Authority


 
The Alabama Supercomputer Authority is an Alabama public corporation with the mission to develop and operate the statewide Alabama Research and Education Network and the Alabama Supercomputer Center. The Authority has a 16-member Board of Directors that sets policy and direction. Dr. Lawrence R. Greenwood, Vice President for Research at UAH, serves on the Board of Directors.
 
The Alabama Research and Education Network (AREN) provides Internet access for Alabama state government, four-year universities, two-year colleges, K-12 schools, and libraries. UAH is a member institution.
